iGlocalGuide
A scalable SaaS platform for creating, managing, and delivering digital tours.
You are looking at the backoffice tour editor in action. Goat Bus Tours used iGlocalGuide to manage their bus excursions around Mallorca during the 2025 summer season.
Overview
iGlocalGuide is a fully custom SaaS built for tour operators and experience-driven businesses who need a flexible way to create and deliver digital tours. The product includes a full backoffice CMS for managing multilingual content and a mobile-friendly tour viewer that works like a native app without requiring downloads. The platform successfully launched for real bus excursions during the summer season and is now evolving toward new B2B and B2C opportunities.
The Challenge
The client initially needed software for his own bus excursions while also wanting a scalable SaaS product for other tour operators. This created constant tension between custom features and long-term product viability. The scope was large, the timeline tight, and the system needed to integrate seamlessly with the client’s existing sales system while supporting multilingual content at scale.
As the project’s first major end-to-end build, it pushed me to combine product design, architecture, and project management while keeping the client aligned and managing scope creep.
The Backoffice
Built with React, TypeScript, and Material UI, the CMS enables tour operators to manage their entire catalog:
- 01 Multi-tenant company setup and granular permissions
- 02 Rich content editing for tours and points of interest
- 03 Automated translations via Google Translate API
- 04 Automated text-to-speech generation using ElevenLabs
- 05 Fast content generation workflows with Firebase Functions and Cloud Storage
Consumer Frontend
A responsive, app-like tour viewer built in React and Tailwind that preserves a native-like experience entirely in the browser:
- 01 Autoplay audio narration on proximity to points of interest
- 02 Beautiful 3D map with real-time tour progress
- 03 Intuitive interface designed for all ages and tech levels
- 04 Multiple access types: scheduled excursions, QR walk-ups, preview codes
- 05 Browser and server-based GPS modes without prompting device permissions
- 06 Custom splash screens and branding per company

Positive user feedback and client expansion plans. The platform is now being extended with AI content generation, deeper analytics, feedback tools, lead-generation features, and a broader B2C strategy for city guides.
What’s Next
I’m still working with the client to this day. The latest focus has been building static promotional sites for individual tours, designed to be distributed through hotels, tourism offices, and local partners. These lightweight pages give each guide its own landing experience, driving bookings directly from where travellers are already looking.
My Role
I served as project manager and lead developer, coordinating architecture, timelines, integrations, and delivery. The project ran for 6 months, supported by one full-time developer for part of the build and targeted freelancers for specific needs. Managing the balance between custom client demands and scalable product design was one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
